Well it was a hot one last week and even though it seems the weather is changing it is still a little warm out. This tropical tasting smoothie will be sure to cool you down anytime of the day, but also makes a great way to start the day as well.

1 Peeled Orange
1/2 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup plain or vanilla non fat greek yogurt (optional)
1 banana
1 cup chopped frozen pineapple chunks
1/4 cup shredded coconut
Water as needed

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend at the highest setting for 30-60 seconds. Pour and enjoy!

Coconut Water Smoothies

This was my first experience with a coconut water smoothie. I had read about coconut water helping with acid reflux so I bought a couple boxes of it… of course before ever trying it. Not a big fan of the taste, but it is great for a good smoothie ingredient. The portions below make about one serving, but you can of course scale up and share with the family.

11 ounces coconut water (unsweetened)
1/3 cup frozen peaches
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup ice
1 tbsp lemon juice
