This morning I tried something a new to mix things up. Goodbelly is the maker of several lines of Probiotic products. Probiotics are the good bacteria that are used in your intestines to help in digestion. It has been suggested that adding good bacteria can help in a healthy lifestyle and improve your health. While use of antibiotics and poor diet can diminish these good bugs, adding the good ones now and then can help balance things out again.
Goodbelly offers these little bugs in several forms, shots, powder or a nice juice beverage. I usually take the shots several times a week but this time I picked up a container of one of their juices. These are made with all natural organic juices while also being dairy and soy free. So I thought what a great way to get my probiotics and make a healthy smoothie as well.
- 1 Cup or Watermelon and Cranberry Goodbelly Juice (you can use one of the others if you wish, its ok)
- 1 Cup Frozen Strawberries
- 1 Cup Frozen Peaches
- 1 Banana
- 1 Apple (cored of corse)
Makes about 4 cups
Now the Goodbelly juice is not the cheapest (quart cost me about $3.50 i think at sprouts) so may not be a regular thing for you, but should be a good addition if you can do it a couple times a week. Their site does offer coupons every so often and some to get started so check them out.
